Willington Hall is a handsome country-house hotel set in its own Cheshire parkland — relaxed, private and blessed with some of the best sunset views of any venue I shoot.
I've photographed many weddings at Willington Hall and it holds a special place for me — the spring and summer sunsets over the surrounding fields are simply glorious, and some of my most-loved images have been made here at the end of the night.
The lawns and parkland give wonderful space for relaxed couple portraits, and the hall itself is full of warmth and character. When the light drops, a short walk out into the grounds rewards you with soft, golden, unforgettable photographs.
My approach is natural and unobtrusive, which suits Willington's laid-back feel. You get to enjoy your day among your guests while I quietly document it, stepping in only for a few relaxed portraits when the light is at its best.
Willington is close to home in Farndon, so I'm always early and settled, and I know precisely where to be as the sun goes down over the Cheshire countryside.
